Artsy, Hip, and On the Rise
Northern Liberties, one of Philly’s youngest and fastest growing neighborhoods, is known for its artist, design professional, and more eclectic congregation. Like most Philadelphia neighborhoods, the housing stock is primarily made up of row houses, although new development in recent times has brought “green” oriented apartment and condominium complexes.
Known for it’s fun and exciting nightlife, Northern Liberties is brimming with trendy restaurants, dance clubs, concert spaces, and bars. The Piazza at Schmidt’s houses many residents and features a stage and a very big screen TV where free concerts are held and sports games are broadcast nearly every night. The Piazza also hosts LGBTQ street festivals, markets, and fun days for children. In addition to the Piazza, Northern Liberties features North Bowl, Philly’s most popular bowling alley, Yard’s Brewing Company, Cesphane Ballroom, and Tendenza.
